Katie
Kurtovic
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
I work with clients looking to improve their relationships and overall quality of life. Throughout my years of practice I have pulled from the work of many of the masters in the field of psychotherapy. What might set me apart from some therapists, is that my main framework comes from a relational approach (as in the work of Terry Real, LCSW and Esther Perel, MFT), where there is a focus on the quality of relationships and connection as a determination of health and contentment in life.
I am certified in Assessing and Treating Sex Issues in Psychotherapy, with AASECT-certified sex therapist Martha Kauppi, MFT, and continue to train in this area through the Institute for Relational Intimacy.
I have been in private practice for the last twenty years in Davis, California, and see adults and couples in therapy.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 30 years experience in the mental health field. I have worked with clients from varying backgrounds and along the full continuum of mental health care. I see adult clients on an individual basis or in couples, and focus on increasing their coping skills and overall resiliency so that they feel more empowered and connected to the people in their lives and the challenges they encounter.
Although most of my career has been in clinical settings in mental health, I also draw from my professional experience working internationally for the United States Military and United Nations Peacekeeping in the post-war Balkans.
